Susan Egan Hometown: Seal Beach
Egan was a familiar in Griffin performing arts productions, first in school choral groups and plays and then in the very first classes for the Orange County High Schooll of the Performing Arts. From there she moved back to New York where she first earned acclaim as Belle in the Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast (for which she earned a Tony nomination), and then as the voice of Megara, the female lead in the animated Disney hit, Hercules. Since then she has appeared in many other Broadway productions, including Thoroughly Modern Millie, Cabaret, State Fair and Bye Bye Birdie, as well as many movies and television shows. Egan also has over 40 recording credits from Broadway
cast albums to film soundtracks, including her five critically praised
solo CDs, the latest of which is a 2-disc concert album Susan Egan LIVE.
